My Great Uncle Mike allowing me to draw in his home art studio as a young child was an encouragement which helped to cultivate my continued interest in studying and practicing art. My wooden nib pen was his and I still use the artist nibs he had on occasion. Some of his sketchbooks, art supplies, and watercolor paintings were given to me after his passing.
38 years were spent living on Long Island in New York, U.S.A. My first theater performance was in elementary school and I loved to sing in the choir. Having to choose between art and music classes as their times conflicted in high school, I kept art on the sidelines, leading to chorale performance and music studies at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College CUNY. Many wonderful musical and theatrical memories were made.
Created charcoal studies in figure and anatomy art classes at the Art League of Long Island with the late John Tartaglione, followed by Stu Yellin. From 2003 to 2004 I earned my BFA degree in Visual Communications: Graphic Design. I then worked for 12 years for a print production company from an Imprint Artist(2 years) to a Prepress Production Artist(10 years).
Summer of 2017, following my partner’s work, we transplanted a bit north of Dallas, Texas, with all of our collected items from our previous adventures. Set my foot back into musical theater performance and took on creating and managing stage properties for local theatres. I have also worked on art commissions of ink drawings, felt banners, and sewing projects.
